Before I continue my adventures in Italy, I wanted to share these photos I recently came across from my husband and I’s travels in Ireland.
I remember this day that despite waking up early this morning to catch our ride going to the village of Armagh where the original St. Patrick’s church was built, I was determined to make the most of the beautiful weather and time in Ireland by reaching this beautiful castle on the slopes of Cave Hill in Belfast before sunset.

The sun drenched blue skies meant it was the perfect chance for us to see unobstructed views of Belfast and it’s Lough from above as we’ve been wanting to from the last days of wandering around Northern Ireland. What great luck that we decided to see it from the gardens of Belfast Castle on such a clear and beautiful afternoon.
How to Get to Belfast Castle:
Metro Service 1 A-H from Belfast City Centre (Monday to Saturday) or no.1 C-E or H (Sundays) – Alight at Strathmore. Expect a light hike up the concrete path going to the castle. There is a fantastic estate trail here that you can explore. You can also wander through the cave hill route for more incredible panoramic city views.
