The Arch of Cabo San Lucas (Cape St. Luke) where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific in Baja California Sur is undeniably Cabo’s most recognized landmark.
Seeing that I truly adore indulging on visiting locations providing spectacular views, a cruise to Los Cabos (The Capes) wouldn’t be complete without seeing the famous arch up close.
Along the marina, there are plenty of water taxis that offer a tour around the isle which is actually fairly funny as the cruise ship offered Cabo water tours as excursions at about $60 per person. Meanwhile, we haggled with the vendors on the port and enjoyed the tour at $10 per person. It was actually rather fun haggling with the locals.

Playa Del Amor, also called Lover’s Beach, is a pleasant sandy area located near the arch. We also saw colorful fishes through the bottom window of the boat. There were a lot of snorkels in this spot. Often, travelers will witness a delightful sea-lion colony that settled on a spot that has a view of the magnificent rock formations.
After our boat ride, we were dropped off at El Medano Beach where many party-goers come to relax and celebrate life. Since we came during spring break, the atmosphere by the shore was very festive and social. With cocktails and fruit smoothies in hand, we reveled in an amazing coconut shrimp. We also delighted in the most unbelievably delicious scallop, seafood and shrimp ceviche as we lay on one of the soothing cabana on shore.
Living in Los Angeles, I always thought that Mexican food couldn’t get any better. Nonetheless, after Cabo, I realized how wrong my assumption was. The ingredients in Mexico are just incomparable to what is offered here in California. I would say that the delectable, authentic meals we had in Cabo was one of the highlights of our trip.
Growing up in a tropical country like the Philippines, it is pretty hard to faze me when it comes to beautiful beach destinations. All the same, the Arch of Cabo San Lucas will unfailingly fancy any traveler. What I cannot speak for though would be the island’s underwater scene. According to the locals, there are not an abounding marine life near El Medano Beach that would contain deep-seated corals and a profound variety of aquatic life. However, the views of Land’s End and the fabulous party scene at the oceanfront of Cabo San Lucas are without question worthy of comparison.
Los Cabos also have a near perfect weather with hot sunny days and low humidity. Luxuriate in one of the sensational resorts in town and you are guaranteed a phenomenal time.
