The use of color is key in all fashion statements, none stronger than the shades of orange. So much orange, in fact, that Pantone named tangerine the color of 2012. However, we have to be careful with its use because too much of it may be overbearing instead of fun.
From a single pop of color to a longer stripe in our wardrobe, tangerine is about as attention-getting as a color can be. Why do you think that in Christianity, the color of the Holy Spirit is represented by this color? Orange hues easily symbolize courage, endurance and strength.
As we embark this Holy Week (the climax of Lent), we are reminded to be courageous on our Christian faith: a faith that is truly led by unconditional love. John 15:13, “No one has greater love than this,to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” We must remember that the love of God was revealed through His Son’s suffering, death and resurrection. This is what makes Christianity different from all other monotheistic religions, that God Himself came down to show us how to live in true freedom and in true love for others.
I believe that Holy Week is a time to recognize the big impact God has made in our lives, very much like a splash of orange colors in our wardrobe!
What an opportunity to not only create new, fresh looks, but also be completely renewed in our faith!
Wherever you are, may you have an awe-inspiring sublime Holy Week!
