My first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower! Oh Paris, I’m so glad we finally meet! You don’t know how many times I’ve imagined meeting you in my mind. Beyond a shadow of doubt, I always knew the day would come and, when it did, I was ready to take you all in. Here I am walking amidst the Place du Trocadéro, site of the Pallais de Challiot across the Seine in Paris, France! Surrounding me is fine, beautiful architecture and the most amazing view of the Eiffel Tower at Champ de Mars. From where I am standing, the tower looks grandiose, magnificent and monumental. Definitely, the best view of the Eiffel Tower is right here since the tower is too big when you are too close and the Pallais creates a wonderful stage. As the sun starts to set, the sky around the tower appears bright orange and pink. Upon dusk, the Eiffel Tower is illuminated and looks even more striking, dignified and majestic — definitely another photogenic perspective. The nearby charming park and the spectacular fountain which bursts forth every hour on the hour also provide an inviting, delightful and romantic ambiance that it only makes sense many couples choose to do a marriage proposal on this very spot. In the evening, the fountains dances along with the illuminated Eiffel Tower. The city always seem to stop just to watch the beautiful, iconic iron lattice tower as it puts on its make up in a form of lights and flair… during the evening hours, every hour, on the hour.
I made a visit to this paradigmatic and iconic spot quite a few times when I went to Paris. I really couldn’t help it, as it is so central to the city. The quaint restaurants and quintessential Parisian cafes surrounding the elegance and splendor of the Eiffel Tower made it an easy place to relax, have a wonderful meal, drink French coffee, and indulge in some lovely Parisian desserts such as my cherished Crêpe au Foie Gras. I knew right then and there that I would visit in Paris many more times. There is something about the city that pulls and draws you in as if luring you to be part of a work of art. During the day, Place du Trocadéro is quite bustling. At sunset it is dreamy and amorous. At night, it is simply and exquisitely captivating. Yes, I did go up the tower and the views up there were absolutely glorious as if making you feel you are truly at the top of the world. As the tower twinkled and glistened brightly, I couldn’t help but realize that one of my dreams have come true. For now, thank you for your rejuvenating sparkle and dazzling me with your time-honored brilliance. She’s a vivacious one, this one. Paris, you enchantress, I’ll be back for you soon.
