True Renaissance in Florence

3

Traversing through Florence feels like a fancy daydream.

It’s astonishing to believe that only a couple of weeks ago we were here. There have been so many meaningful moments my husband and I had despite only being there for two evenings. Our enthusiasm got the better of us and the adventures started on foot at sunrise each morning.

Wandering the streets looking over the Ponte Vecchio, an afternoon at the Boboli Gardens with perspectives of enchanting hills inside Palazzo Pitti, and Piazzale Michelangelo’s sunset view over the Duomo (the city’s domed cathedral called Santa Maria del Fiore) would have to be some of our favorite moments in Florence.

Going through an overwhelming feeling of gratefulness and appreciation to God on how happy we are to be here, we quickly became aware that no matter how many times we see the city’s scenic views on our explorations, we still find ourselves stopping and gasping at its overall unadulterated beauty. And then, we’d unanticipatedly remember that the historic architecture all around is really only the beginning.

A higher level of allure happens inside as we reveled in the original works of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Botticelli and Titian found at the Uffizi and the Accademia Gallery.

With our eyes and minds full to the brim with incredible visuals of ingenuity and mastery from seeing these great works of renaissance art in person (where 80% is found in Florence), we also couldn’t help indulging in the local cuisines. What’s coming up next is the taste of the amazing food we’ve had here, specifically Florence’s incredible and great-tasting traditional and modern steak specialties.
