Upon checking in, I was whimsically charmed by our room as it conveyed more Belle Époque style facade and interiors.
Our balcony had glorious views of one of the hotels outdoor thermal pools which I found to be quite refreshing to view. The bathrooms were decked in marble and everything you could possibly need within the thermal spa and hotel grounds have been provided for. There’s even a color-coded bathrobe to use for when you either enjoy the pool area or receive spa services.
Most guests are on full board packages which mean breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided by the hotel. All we needed to do was relax a little bit, enjoy our balcony views and get ready for supper!
As we were led to the main dining hall, I couldn’t help but be delighted with their buffet spread! Entering a grand hall filled with traditional Belle Époque style dining furniture and glorious chandeliers that sparkled in the night, I was happy to discover that most of their servers are bilingual and could most definitely receive my husband and I’s menu selections in English.
Traveling around Europe, language could sometimes be a barrier. But I find Italy to be one of the friendliest countries that are truly quite hospitable and very personable. This is definitely one reason why it’s one of our favorite countries. The staff’s personalities and welcoming demeanor certainly stood out.
Our supper consisted of a 3-course meal which was masterfully prepared by the hotel’s in-house chef. The menus have themes and my favorite would be the one under the Detox range. I was quite happy that I had an array of authentic Italian meals to choose from which certainly satisfied my cravings for meats and pastas as well as a low-calorie option for evenings when I feel like I want to be more considerate towards my figure. The restaurant made it really easy to pick from its assortment of choices. We enjoy traveling amongst different guests from other countries as it is a way of educating ourselves with other people’s cultures. Grand Hotel Trieste & Victoria is certainly a type of place where everyone is welcome while still very much radiating that quintessential Italian allure that I always come back to Italy for.
It’s evident to say that we had a comfortable night’s rest and the following day, we woke up to the sight of billowing trees in the garden as well as chirping birds joining us for breakfast. One thing I’m quite conscious about when traveling is a hotel’s range of vegan and gluten-free breakfast pastries as well as non-dairy milk. Though I don’t necessarily have any problems relating to said ingredients, I find gluten-free options and almond or coconut milk just easier to digest. I’m so happy to confirm that the hotel definitely would accommodate anyone who is particular about these details. With that said, my husband absolutely loved their signature breakfast hot chocolate. Of course, Italy is known for having one of the best and Grand Hotel Trieste & Victoria definitely likes to spoil their guests.
Stay tuned this week for more on our enchanting stay at the exquisite Grand Hotel Trieste & Victoria!
