Living in Southern California certainly has its perks. We can take a dip in the ocean, enjoy the silence in the desert, hike and have a snowball fight in the mountains, all within an hour of each other! As for the weather, it is amazing! Another perk is Disneyland! The Happiest Place on Earth!
Although Disneyland apparel can be pretty expensive, I actually scored this navy Disneyland “School Girl” Jacket at a thrift store for only $7! I enjoy purchasing quality clothes at a bargain. And what’s even better is that proceeds from this purchase went to charity!
Every time I go to Disneyland, I truly feel like a child without worries! It reminded me of the gospel teaching on being a kid at heart. Matthew 18:3 says “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
But what is it about children that is admirable? Children are quick to learn and very trusting. So, why can’t children & adults (humanity) trust God when he can do more than a human father can do? In Disneyland, kids depend on to their parents for food, drinks and even to keep them dry when it rains! If we keep these child-like qualities and trust in God, everything will fall into place. There will no longer be any worries! If Disneyland was the happiest place on earth, how much more will the Kingdom of Heaven be?
Simple trust and dependence. I believe this is the secret to having a worry-free life: Being a kid at heart. :)
