Naxos, the largest of the Cyclades islands and home of the temple ruins of the Apollo overlooking the gorgeous South Aegean Sea.
This scenic island is known as the most famous underrated city in Greece. And upon seeing it for myself, I could understand why.
Naxos, Greece quite possibly has one of the clearest waters compared to some of the Greek islands I’ve been to… and I’ve been to a lot.
One of the most interesting facets I found to be so quaint was that the isle is filled with perfect cube-shaped whitewashed cottages that were so quintessentially Greek.
I had the lovely chance to visit one of the very first boutique family run hotels along the legendary luminous waters of Plaka Beach called the Medusa Beach Resort and Suites.

One sunshiny day here on my little captivating tour of Naxos, I made sure to explore this pretty hotel to the fullest.
I got up for breakfast at 8:30 and had the most pleasant and relaxing breakfast in their outdoor patio. I ordered the Naxian breakfast whilst my husband ordered the Medusa Breakfast. We were both very excited to eat our made-to-order breakfast and relax. We were quite impressed with our server, Eddie, who courteously spoke English, Spanish and German all throughout the morning as he conversed with the international clients here at Medusa Beach Resort.
I learned that there’s yoga four times a week meticulously organized by this special beach resort. The family entrepreneurs who own it have been designing this winning boutique hotel for over 18 years now. Naxos is a favorite place for many and this pleasing property at Plaka Beach fronting the Aegean Sea is an enchanting spot, no doubt.
Picture a beauteous resort village decked with handsome trees and the most graceful of blooms gratifying your every step as you relax and unwind at the Medusa Beach Resort. Believe me, I had the most amiable time admiring the dainty corners of this place, as well as the captivating ocean views just steps from my villa.
Word on streets is some guests even come here and stay for weeks. And why wouldn’t they? Medusa Beach Resort has access to all the farm-to-table produce that is available in Naxos all-year round as it is one of the most sustainable isles in Greece. My breakfast was as delectable and lovely as I expected. I couldn’t get enough of the island’s Greek yogurt and their Naxian honey, of course.
After brunch, I went to my executive villa suite and enjoyed a pleasing afternoon in the comforts of my own Jacuzzi. After the bubbly dip, I went out to the beachfront of the hotel and sun bathed all afternoon whilst reading a book. All I could see was 7 km of fine sand and the clearest turquoise waters of Greece. Wow, this is truly the life!
Medusa Beach Resort is like a secret garden perched by the most impressive waters of the Aegean Sea. Surrounded by hammocks that speak of serenity, your stay here will be filled with joy and delight. They say joyful living is having time to stop and smell the roses. Here, you’ll have plenty of those happy moments that’ll keep you lighthearted and jubilant for weeks. Reinvigorating and revitalizing, Medusa Beach Resort is an effervescent way to spend your dream holiday in Greece.
