Riding the coattails of being voted as “The Most Beautiful Island in the World” and the “Top Island in the World” by the Huffington Post and Conde Nast respectively, I feel that no visit in the Philippines would be complete without a proper holiday in Palawan.
Quoted as “sheer perfection”, I feel truly lucky to have had the time and opportunity to be able to take a break and see this sensational island for myself. I am so blessed by the warmest of welcome by my host, Two Seasons Island Resort and Spa, situated in a tropical peninsula in lovely Malaroyroy, Coron, Palawan. As I set foot at their dock, I was literally floored at my first impressions of the exclusive island that is Two Seasons. I found myself asking, how many times have I dreamt of being whisked away in a private island and be surrounded by the most sparkling of turquoise waters with my feet in powdery, white sand? Today was the day this dream became reality for the Two Seasons Island Resort and Spa in Palawan is the stuff that dreams are made of.

I reached the island of Palawan through a short one-hour plane ride from the city of Manila. Two Seasons Island Resort and Spa provided a hotel driver to pick up their guests from Busuanga Airport then transferred to an exclusive speedboat in order to reach their insanely beautiful private paradise quickly and in style. Beyond the pure beauty of this tropical paradise, I was sincerely amazed by how efficient and amiable their staff was. Waiting on my arrival was an array of people to help me settle in the most convenient of ways. As you can see, I am in complete awe with the gradient hues of blues that hailed me when I first laid eyes on this élite resort. I never knew the Sulu Sea could be so enchanting and captivating. To further emphasize, the first feelings that will greet you at Two Seasons Island Resort are nothing short of pure bliss. Checking in was a complete breeze with their unique yet refreshing cucumber-zucchini welcome drinks served with warm churros and chocolate. Divine, indeed.
I took my time just soaking it all in, basking under the glowing sun and appreciating all that Two Seasons Island Resort and Spa has to offer. An exquisite pool sits in the middle of the island beside the charming, reef-inspired Bahura Bar where I decided to have lunch, under an authentic Philippine beach hut paired with one of the best views of my life. Every possible tropical fruit shake or smoothie was available upon request as well as a mix of Filipino, Asian and Western dishes. Having been isolated from Filipino food for over a decade, I was smitten by their version of lengua sisig and lechon kawali. I also tried the creamy truffle shiitake mushroom and seafood pasta. The Bahura Bar offers a prime spot to enjoy the pristine views of Coron.
Following lunch, I continued exploring the island and was impressed to see a distinct beach with lush mangroves and a picturesque sandbar uniting another smaller, striking island.
Downright impressed, it is hard for me to believe that this private, luxury resort is also 100% sustainable and environment friendly by transforming sea water to non-potable water exercising reverse osmosis. It also uses rain catchers to water the island’s lush tropical garden and solar panels for water heaters. Amidst the unadulterated beauty of Coron lies this truly innovative resort. Two Seasons Island in Coron is truly a destination that is so worth the journey.
