Portugal was a country that I’ve always aspired to visit and Thanksgiving weekend was the perfect time to make this dream of mine come true.
While I adored the Christmas markets that emerged in the past few weeks here in England, the LA girl in me was certainly craving for a warmer mood. Enter Cascais, dubbed as the Portuguese Riviera just 20 minutes off Lisbon, where the alluring Hotel The Oitavos sits magnificently by the sea. Sexy, eye-catching, stylish and chic, it is about time that international travelers get to know this remarkable and eye-catching property.

I suppose one can tell how electrified I absolutely felt wandering around this charming property. Touring the grounds, The Oitavos is certainly the kind of resort that is voguish and fashionable while maintaining an air of classic luxury. After all, it is a favored magazine editorial shooting location of the European fashion industry. With its stunning grounds, one can easily assume that The Oitavos is a favorite of well-heeled travelers all over the world. Whilst walking around and enjoying the views of Oitavos Dunes, its first-class golf course, I even got the chance to say hello to a wonderful American family that was also spending their Thanksgiving weekend in Portugal. Plenty of golf tournaments happen here during the hotel’s peak season. The lovely Oitavos Dunes clubhouse is also home to fascinating Verbasco, an incredible restaurant covered completely in glass allowing the enduring charisma of the Atlantic coast to resonate as guests enjoy their marvelous meal.
I can tell you that this is just the beginning of what felt like the most blissful three days of my life. As I sat poolside, entranced by the allure of the coast of Cascais and the hotel’s glittering infinity pool, I was certainly feeling very thankful. The beauty of The Oitavos certainly has that effect on people. Overwhelmed with gratefulness as the palatial hotel glistened in my background, I couldn’t help but encounter an overpowering sense of calm and peacefulness. The idyllic landscape of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park where Oitavos Dunes lies certainly adds to the breathtaking vibes. This is just the start of my journey at The Oitavos Hotel but I promise that this hotel will exhilarate you like no other. Prepare to be swept off your feet!
