Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairtyle.
This quote by Melissa Brown is one of my favorites and there could be no line better suited to describe my lovely rendezvous at Hotel Trigrlav Bled.
A venue like no other, I was introduced to Bled last spring in the most captivating way. I first read about this enchanting place online but nothing could have ever prepared me for the splendid sighting of seeing it in real life for the very first time.
“The soothing view of the lake from your room will feel like an old friend who will always be there for you.”
I would have to thank Hotel Triglav Bled for hosting me on this beauteous occasion. A spring break is needed and what a delightful change of pace it truly was. In almost every corner, one can get a glimpse of the most astonishing view of the tiny little island that’s become the icon of Lake Bled.
Upon arrival at this picture-perfect place, one could not help but feel the soul and history that emanates so gracefully right through.
My eyes filling with romantic gusto, I was welcomed in a kind and welcoming manner by the staff of Hotel Triglav. The warmth of each and every person who worked in the hotel truly made the stay so amiable and convivial. All their guests must feel incredibly at home with their receptive and cordial attitude.
I roamed around inside and was thoroughly impressed by their wonderful collection of preserved antiques. I went up to my little suite and as I slowly opened the doors, I already knew that my time at Hotel Triglav was going to be something special.
As I traversed my way into the dainty balcony, I gasped with what I saw in child-like glee. Surrounding me was the most picturesque of hills so green it felt like a scene from the unforgettable film, Sound of Music, which was a childhood favorite of mine.
Across the way, staring straight at me, was the most crystal-blue waters I have ever seen. Truly, Lake Bled, is pure and utter magic!
Like a divine illusion, I couldn’t help but watch at its still and sublime beauty. There is something so raw about the brilliance of Lake Bled’s charm. The exquisiteness and delicacy of the nature that Hotel Triglav has so perfectly framed in their lake-view suites’ balconies set the understated glamour and style that cannot ever be copied unless you were in Bled.
Somehow, I felt a sense of true peace in this little corner that I had for the weekend. In perfect harmony, Hotel Triglav has done such a harmonious job pacifying the blues of the skies and the lake simply by being on this spot, at the top of the hill, for over a century.
In 1906 was when Hotel Triglav was born, perched ever so elegantly across the first railway that connected Bled to Vienna. The late Archduke Franz Ferdinand was one of the famous people who has graced the hotel.
Thinking that this was the very view he saw at one point in time gave me a surprising thrill and a grin filled with excitement. Long before tourism became a mainstream, Bled has already set itself apart as one of the most important resorts in Europe.
The main town of Bled is fundamentally across the lake and on its same level. However, the trek between Hotel Triglav to the old town is remarkably beautiful. It took about 30-45 minutes to walk from one side of the lake to the other which is no problem really since exploring the circumference of the lake is one of the things that you must do in Bled. Hotel Triglav sits on a unique location that captures the entire perspective of Lake Bled. It is a sight to behold, even fall in love with… especially when waking up in the morning, hot coffee in hand, and gazing out to the remarkable view.
Equal to a true rebirth, Hotel Triglav focuses on well-being and on an outstanding culinary encounter. An indoor pool sets the stage for a morning swim with 180 degree views of Bled. At breakfast, be prepared for an even more elevated perspective of the landscape that surrounds the stunning hotel.
Traditional Slovenian meals are well-prepared and the hotel’s General Manager, Damir Salkic, is renowned to be one of the finest wine connoisseurs in the region. It would be a mistake not to dine at the hotel’s spectacular restaurant.
I’ve had the good fortune of tasting their menu which I have shared on a previous post. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed dining at Hotel Triglav’s Restaurant 1906 Bled.
Fresh from your calm and placid sleep at the hotel, the soothing view of the lake from your room will feel like an old friend who will always be there for you from morning ‘til night. Hotel Triglav has a way of keeping you amazingly relaxed with its pleasant and tasteful setting.
Upon checking out, I couldn’t help but think that there are the kind of mornings where you just want to talk for hours because of the company you’re with, the ambiance throughout, the distinctive food, and the happiness of the moment. These are the kinds of enchanting mornings you will have at Hotel Triglav.
Day in and out, good luck will be on your side. With the otherworldly soul of this place, you will certainly leave in a spellbinding feeling of appreciation.
Hotel Triglav has that effect – a kind of tenderness and affection that will make an impression on you upon leaving the place. You’ll promise that you will have to come back intrigued by its mystery. Parallel to a good old wine, each day here just keeps on getting better!
