Having the chance to travel to quite a few islands in Greece, I’ve been lucky to see some of the most picturesque views in the world.

Greece has been a surefire favorite country of mine and it would be a dream to keep coming back here to explore more islands!  A beach that I’m quite fond of is the legendary Plaka Beach in Naxos where we had the joy of relishing a mouth-watering lunch.

We decided to first have a couple of mocktails at the bar which are cocktail brews without alcohol. Yazoo Summer Bliss are famous in the island for their drink medley filled with colorful mixtures. They are so good at it that they even play host and judge for coffee competitions in the island.

The mocktails were called the Pink Fizz and the Sunset Plus. Sounds pretty beach-themed alright! The pink fizz had rosemary syrup, parsley syrup, and a few other natural syrups that were extracted from the restaurant’s garden. The Sunset Plus featured aromas of cucumber, puree of acidic strawberry, and lemon zest. These two drinks were perfect for a typical Greek spring or summer day.

Yazoo Summer Bliss exudes in perfection a splendid, cool summer vibe. The decor is naturally open, drapey and has a breezy environment. This place is famous for hosting a full moon party every summer!

With minimal light in the restaurant, the full moon glows over the entire beach where Yazoo Summer Bliss lies and guests from all over the world dance under the moonlight until the morning. Up to 250 people came the last moonlight party. Sounds amazing, doesn’t it?!

A three-course meal in this quaint beachfront place is quite a fantastic itinerary at any given day in Naxos.  The first course served was tuna tartare with Cretan salad. The tuna tartare sauce consisted of olive oil with a hint of lemon, strawberry and orange served with white wine. One can certainly taste how healthy these ingredients are.

The Cretan salad contained fish, egg, Naxian potato, tomato, onion, olives and carob husk. Apparently, dry rusk from a carob is full of folic acid and very rich in vitamins. This salad was simple but an incredible mix of very fresh vegetables. All in all, it tasted so delicious.

For our mains, we had a sea drum fish and pork pancetta. The sea drum fish, a white fish, was served with invigorating vegetables on the side. The fish was extraordinarily soft and flavorful. It just feels clean and easy to eat. The vegetables complimented the fish just as well. This main was palatable to the senses and most definitely vigorous tasting.

The pork pancetta was served with Naxian sweet potato, fresh mushrooms, and Naxian fig jam sauce. The pork pancetta was cooked with its richness maintained while having a wonderful light crisp to its exterior. It was fabulously tender and flavorful. The sweet potato was amazingly creamy. The character of the ingredients just goes so well together with the pork. Simply delicious.

For dessert, we had sensational panna cotta with strawberry cream and a superb Greek Freddo Cappuccino.  The marvelous panna cotta was made with Naxian yogurt and the strawberries fresh from their garden. It was surprisingly bursting with heavenly sweetness. I made a silent promise to myself to create a home herb and fruit garden because the strawberries tasted so darling and divine!

What a fantastic meal!  Compliments to the chef!  A true blissful experience in the summer.  Yahoo Summer Bliss is the place to just kick back and relax while your taste buds go for a sensational ride.
