Valentine’s Through Rose Colored Lenses

The ambiance at Arroyo Chop House was impressive and intimate. It had a handsome appeal, accented in rich mahogany with cozy booths bathed in seductive light. We received remarkable service. I was wearing a flowing purple and black single-shoulder asymmetrical dress I scored from Melrose that allowed me to feel chic yet comfortable (I knew I was going to be eating a lot). I paired up my outfit with my classic B Briant Atwood black pump. Ultimately, I wanted to feel relaxed while still being elegant and polished.

Porterhouse for two was the choice… All 2 1/2 lbs. of it! It was delightfully tender and juicy with a buttery flavor that makes it distinctively superior. They only serve USDA prime graded steaks, after all. The porterhouse had amazing tenderness, juiciness, flavor and fine texture. We were definitely eating one of the best steaks of our lives. It was blackened on the outside and pink in the inside… delectable without having to be soaked in butter (unlike some renowned steakhouses).  For dessert, we had the grand marnier soufflé.

By the end of the evening, I received chocolates and a dozen fuchsia roses with a sparkly red heart in the middle of the bouquet.

Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine’s Day!
