A surprise trip seems like the perfect birthday present for anyone.
Although it seems like the definition of spontaneity, you can carefully plan a voyage well in advance, and not let your husband know about it until his birthday!
Traveling to an exciting destination is inspiring, and it can be a memorable episode in your relationship. Plus, nothing sounds as good as being pampered on such a special day like your birthday. And if you wish to show your husband how deeply you cherish him, I believe this is the right way to do that, particularly if he appreciates traveling! Consider the following aspects to make sure that everything goes smoothly when the day finally comes.
Anticipate your husband’s reaction
Even though the idea of being away on your birthday appears like a dream come true to you, some people don’t like to be surprised when it comes to such major things. In other words, some spouses may disagree with spending a significant sum of money without consulting with them first. In this situation, perhaps it may be best to talk to your partner and plan the trip together.
Keep your lips sealed
After you have settled that your husband is the man who loves surprises, and wouldn’t mind not being involved in the planning, you must keep your lips sealed regarding the trip. It may be an immense challenge, but if you want to go with it, this is what you have to do. Try not to tell others about your intention, unless you want to spoil the surprise. Still, it is highly recommended to discuss the matter with your husband’s superior, that is, if he doesn’t work remotely. Either way, you need to make sure that the time you schedule the trip is suitable for your husband’s schedule, and it won’t lead to any complications.
In the case in which you cannot communicate with his superior, or if your husband works remotely, and he makes his own schedule, you might want to consider discussing the itinerary with him. If the birthday gift interferes with his job, he won’t be happy about it.
Establish what he would like
There are so many exotic and exciting traveling destinations, which may make it almost impossible for you to decide on a single one. Begin by eliminating the places you have already traveled to, and try to make a list with the places that your husband would want to explore. Considering your budget is also primordial, as you don’t want to end up being penniless after your trip is over. And, finally, after you have booked all your hotel, excursions and restaurant reservations, you ought to choose the perfect moment when to spill the beans. Ideally, you should let him know about the trip a couple of days before the date of the departure. This way, he will have time to get used to the idea and pack his bags with proper clothes.
Finally, irrespective of how you choose to organize the trip, make sure you convey the entire matter from your husband’s perspective, not the other way around.
