One fine day, I stumbled upon a unique sushi restaurant that left me quite pleasantly surprised and extremely satisfied.

An unassuming place, Sushi Casa Arigato is a simple, Japanese restaurant located in the heart of Redondo Beach.  It is owned by a wonderful Japanese family who so graciously brought my palate to authentic Japanese cuisine with their artful cooking and graceful food presentation.

My meal started off remarkably.  Jello of the Sea has a soft and clear texture that consists of king crab, sea urchin, white fish and salmon roll.  I’m a big seafood lover so this unique appetizer was definitely a treat.  To complement it, I also had the Lemon Miso Sardines and some sweet sake!

I also tried their wonderful Cauliflower Soup with shrimp, scallops and salmon eggs.  It’s a creamy and thick soup base with mild scallop and shrimp flavors.  The salmon eggs add a wonderful texture and an added tang in the palate.  It was a pleasant surprise when those eggs popped!  What an intense combination!

This was something I have never seen before. Steamed sushi in a small elegant wooden package. It was a harmonious blend of fresh water, sea eel, shiitake mushrooms with burdock on Kanpyō sushi rice.  I really enjoyed this meal.  It was so tasty and delicious!  I was very pleased.

Matcha Green Tea Swiss Roll

Definitely one of the freshest and authentic sushi spots I have ever been to. Everything here has proved to be of high quality.  Each sushi has a small piece of wasabi which certainly gave my first taste a fun kick.  My all time favorite would have to be the blue fin tuna belly, called Toro.  Amazing!  It all melted in my mouth. :)

For dessert, the green tea matcha cake hit the spot!  I also tried their matcha green tea latte.  Both were so good.   This place is an absolute haven for people who truly enjoy good authentic sushi!
